Heart Of The Garden I Kit
Step by step instructions on how to put together the faucet assembly of the heart of the garden kit.
The Heart of the Garden Kit is the best way to begin your drip irrigation system. It is one simple package that is the foundation of your garden. You can then select an add-on kit that best meets your particular garden needs to distribute the water to your plantings. Displayed here are all the components that are included in the Heart Kit. Each component serves a specific purpose to allow your drip system to operate properly. It includes a filter, regulator, Easy loc female hose beginning, mainling tubing, 2 figure 8 endings, an Easy loc tee, 10 hold downs, 10 goof plugs, a coupler and a punch. Begin your Heart Kit by putting together the faucet assembly. This will manage your drip system and consists of the filter and regulator. Start by connecting the filter to the faucet, checking to make sure the washer is in place. The filter is used to remove any sediments or particles large enough to clog the emitters, sprinklers or sprayers. Next, attach the regulator to the base of the filter. This will convert the water pressure of your home to that necessary for a drip system to operate. From here you will connect your mainline tubing, which is covered in Part 2 of the Heart Kit series.

Heart Of The Garden II Kit
Explanation of how to connect your tubing in the heart of the garden kit to the faucet assembly shown in the Heart Of The Garden I.
Now that you have completed your faucet assembly, you are now ready to connect your mainling tubing. The purpose of the mainline tubing is to distribute water to different areas of your garden. Before unrolling your tubing, it is best to lay it in the sun for approximately 30 minutes. This allows the tubing to soften and makes it easier to use. Start by cutting the tape and attaching one end of the tubing to the Easy loc female hose beginning. To connect your mainline tubing to your Easy loc female hose beginning or any Easy loc fitting, start by turning the collar back to the body of the fitting, which exposes the barb. Firmly hold the fitting in one hand and slide the tubing over the barb as far as it will go. Some force may be required and it can be made easier by rocking the tubing onto the barb. Finally, tighten the collar clockwise over the tuning until tight. After completed, attach the Easy loc female hose beginning to the regulator by screwing it on clockwise. This allows a transition from the faucet assembly to the mainline tubing. Then roll the tubing as you would a tire through the desired areas of your garden. This allows for fewer kinks to occur. As you unroll the tubing, apply the "U" shaped hold downs approximately every 5-10 feet, to keep the tubing in place. If you wish to branch your tubing to different areas of your garden, an Easy loc tee may be required. The tee is connected the same as the Easy loc female hose beginning mentioned earlier in the video. To close off the mainline tubing attach a figure 8 ending. Insert the tubing into one of the holes, then kink back the tubing and slide it into the other hole. This creates a water tight seal and an end to your Heart Kit.

Easy Loc Fittings
Learn how to connect your tubing to our Easy Loc fittings. They are much quicker and easier to use than compression or barbed fittings.
Durable Easy loc fittings are used to connect, repair and branch off the mainline tubing. This creates a water tight seal while joining pieces of poly tubing together. For this demonstration we will be using the Easy loc coupler. The most common types of Easy loc fittings are T's, couplers and the female hose beginning. To connect your mainline tubing to any Easy loc fitting, start by turning the collar back to the body of the fitting, which exposes the barb. Firmly hold the fitting in one hand and slide the tubing over the barb as far as it will go. Some force may be required and it can be made easier by rocking the tubing onto the barb or dipping the tubing in warm water. Finally, tighten the collar clockwise over the tubing until tight. The coupler is used to either add onto an existing line or to repair a damaged line. The T fitting allows you to branch off the mainline and go in different directions. There are many other type of Easy loc fittings and all work the same way and are reusable.

Soaker Dripline Add-On Kit
Visual example of how to use soaker dripline in your garden. This video explains how to put together your system once you receive your soaker dripline add-on kit.
The Garden Bed-Soaker Dripline Add on kit is designed for gardens consisting of flower and vegetable beds. The quarter inch soaker dripline is one of DripWorks most versatile products. There are two options of soaker dripline with emitters spaced every six or twelve inches apart. This kit includes a hundred foot roll of quarter inch soaker dripline, quarter inch transfer barbs, goof plugs and hold downs. Using your layout of the mainline tubing from the Heart Kit, the Garden Bed-Soaker dripline will attach and distribute the water to your plants. To attach the soaker dripline to the mainline tubing, you will need the yellow punch provided in the Heart Kit and quarter inch transfer barbs included in the add-on kit. At the point in which you want to branch off your mainline, punch a hole in the tubing using a twisting motion with the punch. To fix a hole made in the wrong location, simply use a goof plug to repair the mistake. Then insert a quarter inch transfer barb into the end of the soaker dripline and place the other end into the hole made by the punch in the mainline tubing. Unroll the tubing throughout the plantings, and use the quarter inch hold downs to keep the tubing in place every 2 to 4 feet. After you have run the soaker dripline through the garden bed, cut the tubing and insert a goof plug into the end of the soaker dripline. Repeat these steps to run the dripline to all the areas that require the soaker dripline tubing. When you are finished, turn your water on for fifteen to twenty minutes and inspect that all emitters are distributing water correctly.

Drip Emitter Add-On Kit
Step by step instructions on how to install your drip emitter add-on kit. This add-on kit comes with fifty take apart emitters ideal for watering individual plants.
The Drip Emitter Add-on kit is used to water fifty small plants over a wide area or can be used together to water up to sixteen trees or large shrubs. The kit includes the take apart emitter, which can easily be taken apart to clean debris. Included in the kit are 50 take apart emitters, bug plugs, quarter inch hold downs, Easy loc tees, 50 feet of blank quarter inch tubing and two figure 8 endings. Start by making a hole in the mainline tubing with the yellow punch using a twisting motion in the desired area where you would like to place the take apart emitter. To fix a hole made in the wrong location, simply use a goof plug to repair the mistake. The take apart emitter has two ends, a beveled end and a flag end, which is the water outlet. To insert the take apart emitter into the mainline tubing, push the beveled end into the punched hole until you hear or feel a pop. If a plant is too far away from the mainline tubing a simple line can be run from the take apart emitter to reach your plant. First, take the quarter inch blank tubing and insert one end onto the take apart emitter. Run the tubing to the desired area and cut the tubing where needed. Next insert a bug plug into the end of the quarter inch blank tubing and secure it by the quarter inch hold down. The bug plug allows water to flow out, but will stop bugs from entering. The kit also includes two Easy loc tees if you need to branch your mainline tubing to other areas of your garden. Simply follow the steps for installation explained in the Easy loc fitting video. After you have installed all your emitters, check the watering pattern by turning on the faucet for fifteen to twenty minutes and inspect all areas.

Emitter Tubing Add-On Kit
The emitter tubing add-on kit is most commonly used to water trees or shrubs. Here is an example of how to put together a system using the emitter tubing add-on kit.
The tree and shrub add-on kit is specific for watering trees and shrubs in rows or throughout landscapes. The in-line emitter tubing can be placed in circles around your plants or run along a row of medium sized plants. This kit includes 100 feet of half inch emitter tubing with one gallon per hour emitters spaced every twelve inches, ten quarter inch Easy loc barbs, figure 8 endings, hold downs, and a coupler. From the heart kit, the half inch emitter tubing will branch from the mainline and encircle each tree. Unroll your tubing around the tree or shrub until the circle is complete. It is important to remember to keep the emitter tubing at least one foot away from the trunk of the plant or tree and 2-4 feet away for larger trees. Be sure to use the U shaped hold downs to keep the emitter tubing in place around the tree. Now cut the tubing where needed. Place a figure 8 ending on the end of the half inch emitter tubing to stop the water flow, creating a water tight seal. Insert one end of the tubing into one of the holes, then kink back the tubing and slide it into the other hole. Now attach a quarter inch Easy loc barb to the half inch emitter tubing. The tube slides over the fitting and the collar is tightened as shown in the Easy loc video. Next punch a hole in the mainline tubing with the yellow punch, using a tiwsting motion, in the mainline where needed. To fix a hole made in the wrong location, simply use a goof plug to repair the mistake. Now place the barb end of the quarter inch Easy loc barb into the hole made in the mainline tubing. Continue to place the emitter tubing around all your trees and turn the water on for fifteen to twenty minutes to ensure that all the emitters are working correctly and the watering pattern is well distributed.

Watch the Dripworks Mini Jets video
Mini Jets Add-On Kit
Mini jets are great for watering borders or pathways due to their 180 degree spray pattern. This will show you how easy it is to install the mini jets add-on kit.
The mini jets add-on kit is a set of ten sprayers that offer a 180 degree watering pattern. The mini jets are ideal for light watering over smaller areas, such as flower beds and small planter boxes. Each mini jet sprays water in a 3 and a half foot radius providing thirteen gallons of water per hour. This kit includes ten mini jets and ten easy stakes. Each stake comes with a 3 foot run of quarter inch tubing to allow for a wide range of flexibility in placement. To determine where your mini jets should go, place the easy stakes in the ground where you feel it is necessary for proper water coverage. Once the stakes are inserted, run the quarter inch tube connected to the stake back towards the mainline tubing. To connect the stakes to the mainline tubing, start by making a hole in the mainline tubing where desired with the yellow punch by using a twisting motion. To fix a hole made in the wrong location, simply use a goof plug to repair the mistake. Take the quarter inch tube from the stake with the transfer barb already inserted and place it into the mainline tubing. Remember to seperate each tube by 3 and a half to 4 feet. Finally, take the mini jet sprayers and install them into the quarter inch tubing on the top of each stake. The mini jet sprayers will thread into the tubing, this can be done by hand or using the hex shaped hole on the opposite end of the yellow punch. When all the mini jets are inserted onto the ends of the stakes, turn your faucet on for fifteen to twenty minutes and inspect that all the mini jets are creating the necessary watering pattern and the area is being entirely covered.

Ein Dor Mini Sprinklers Add-On Kit
These sprinklers are great for larger landscape areas. View the Ein Dor mini sprinklers add-on kit being installed into mainline tubing.
The Ein Dor mini sprinkler add-on kit is the most popular sprinkler to water your garden beds. This simple sprinkler distributes water evenly over an eleven-foot diameter making it commonly used in ground cover, seed starts, greenhouses and flowerbeds. The kit includes ten Ein Dor mini sprinkler heads and ten stakes with tubing and barb. To begin take the stakes with tubing and place them five to eight feet apart along the mainline in your garden. Make sure to overlap sprinkler coverage to guarantee that your watering is 100 percent effective. Now that you have your stakes in place, run the tubing attached to the stake back to the mainline tubing. Punch a hole in the mainline with the yellow punch using a twisting motion. Then take the quarter inch tube from the stake with the transfer barb already inserted and place it into the mainline tubing. To fix a hole made in the wrong location, simply use a goof plug to repair the mistake. With the stake in place, take the sprinkler head and insert the wobbly propeller like end into the press fit opening at the top of the stake and press firmly down. When applied correctly, it will have a smooth tight fit that will not pop off with normal water pressure. Repeat these steps on all your stakes and when you are finished, turn your water on for fifteen to twenty minutes and inspect that all sprinklers are distributing water correctly.
